Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team and support the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. You will be responsible for maintaining accounting records, managing the month-end close process, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You take pride in accuracy and bring a proactive approach to process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage and own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
• Prepare accurate financial statements and management accounts
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve variances
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Assist with the preparation of corporate tax returns and tax compliance
• Support the external audit process by preparing schedules and responding to queries
• Maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting
• Identify and implement accounting process improvements and automation opportunities

Requirements

• 3+ years of accounting experience in a professional environment
• Solid understanding of GAAP or IFRS accounting standards
• Experience managing a month-end close process
• Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP)
• Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reconciliation
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Good communication skills for working with internal and external stakeholders

Nice to Have

• CPA, ACA, or ACCA certification (or in progress)
• Experience with revenue recognition under ASC 606 / IFRS 15
• Background in SaaS or technology companies
• Experience with multi-entity consolidation and intercompany accounting
