Architect Job Description

We are looking for a talented and experienced Architect to lead the design and delivery of architectural projects from concept through to completion. You will work on a diverse portfolio of projects, collaborating with clients, engineers, and contractors to deliver high-quality, sustainable, and buildable designs. You bring creative vision, technical competence, and the organizational skills to manage complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design projects from initial brief and concept through to technical design and completion
• Develop creative, functional, and technically resolved design solutions
• Produce high-quality drawings, models, and specifications using BIM and CAD tools
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, and other specialist consultants
• Navigate planning applications, building regulations, and statutory approvals
• Manage client relationships and lead design presentations and reviews
• Oversee contract administration during the construction phase
• Manage project budgets and programs for architectural services
• Mentor junior architects and architectural assistants

Requirements

• Professional architecture qualification (Part III or equivalent) and registered architect status
• 5+ years of post-qualification architectural experience
• Proficiency in BIM software (Revit, ArchiCAD) and AutoCAD
• Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of project types and scales
• Solid knowledge of building regulations, planning processes, and construction methods
• Excellent communication and client management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Nice to Have

• Experience with sustainable design certifications (BREEAM, LEED, Passivhaus)
• Knowledge of heritage and listed building design
• Experience with residential, commercial, or mixed-use development
• BIM management or coordination experience
